Endicastre-lineage.jpg

A small House in a small domain beside the mouth of the Peakesriver, Endicastre is not particularly noteworthy. Fishing and the raising of livestock form a large portion of their land's wealth, although the lavender fields of old Lady Melietta are well-known for their heady perfume.

Iraessia

Domain: Hills (7); Coast (3), Grassland (1), River (3)
In the hills along the eastern mouth of the Peakesriver is Iraessia, a small domain of little note. Home to generations of folk who fish both sea and river, Iraessia has gained some small renown in recent years thanks to the efforts of the "Lavender Lady," whose enormous fields of sweet-smelling lavender are turned into precious oils and perfumes.

  • Fisherfolk of Iraessia: Fishery Wealth Holding.
  • The Lavender Fields of Lady Endicastre: Herb Fields + Perfumery Wealth Holding.

Forces

  • The Riders of Harcourt: Veteran Raiders (7).
  • Endicastre Fleet: Trained Warships (10).
  • Iraessia Garrison: Trained Garrison (5).

Members of the House

Melietta-endicastre.jpg
Lady Melietta Endicastre
Head of House (Status 4) • 80 years
"The Lavender Lady" is well-known for the cloud of fine floral perfume she positively douses herself in, and she is sadly considered something of a backwater yokel by most of the nobles who know of her. Though she isn't particularly well educated or socially adroit, she has always taken care of her lands and House, and it shows. She may be a joke to her fellow nobles, but her people love her dearly, and she them.
Lord Vinidis Endicastre
Consort (Status 3) • 83 years
Old Lord Vindis reclines in a high-backed chair, his feet up, a blanket over his legs, in a window overlooking his wife's lavender gardens most of the time. He suffered a palsy almost ten years ago that cost him his ability to speak and walk, and he is something of a parchment-skinned ghost these days.
Terenda Endicastre
Heir (Status 3) • Firstborn Daughter • 57 years
As a girl, Terenda bitterly wanted to be accepted by the well-heeled nobility, and resented her home and House. Their spurning clearly embittered Terenda, and she now refuses to leave Iraessia. Even though, she hungers for the trappings of sophistication, and eagerly welcomes artists, minstrels, and academics who find themselves in this part of the world. Though she married the third son of minor Greensward nobility in her mid-20s, she has never borne children. With the death of Polvis while a guest of House Durwald, Terenda has set her spine against their neighbors.
Yrcantis Endicastre
Secondborn Son • 52 years
Though he squired for a perfectly capable knight as a boy, Yrcantis never quite had what it took to become a full knight. Which is just as well – he was called home to take over management of Slakeshore in his early 20s. To this day, this fisher-lord is as popular with his people as his mother is.
Calepsa-endicastre.jpg
Calepsa Endicastre
Yrcantis's Consort • 48 years
A daughter of neighboring House Durwald, Calepsa as the youngest of her generation, and deeply intimidated during her first Summer Court. Lady Melietta took her under her wing during it, and then took her as a handmaiden the autumn after. Calepsa met and fell quite in love with Yrcantis, and they were married once she was of age. Calepsa's joy are her children, although she occasionally misses the vineyards of her girlhood – fortunately, this latent homesickness is easily remedied with a short boat ride across the river and a visit to her sister's court.
Bondatus-endicastre.jpg
Sir Bondatus Endicastre
Yrcantis's Firstborn Son • 26 years
Thus far the only knight in several generations of House Endicastre, Sir Bondatus squired for Sir Vericus of House Durwald in his youth, and he still has very good relations with that House. With the death of Polvis, his affection for the Durwalds has set him at odds with his aunt Terenda.
Anvelia Endicastre
Sir Bondatus's Consort • 26 years
The daughter of a knight in service to House Cyrgaunt, Anvelia met Bondatus at a tourney hosted by the Warden of the Three-Rivers. Moreso than anyone else in the world, Anvelia is Bondatus' helpmeet, and works to further his aims and efforts in nearly everything, making them her own. She is a boon companion of Calepsa's.
Vinidis Endicastre
Sir Bondatus's Firstborn Son • 5 years
A sweet boy of five years, Vinidis has grown up around boats and the water, and is very much at home on the waves.
Marukis Endicastre
Sir Bondatus's Secondborn Son • 2 years
A tiny toddler of just a few years in age.
Ouphenia Endicastre
Yrcantis's Secondborn Daughter • 23 years
Ouphenia is one of the devoted of Uncta Imira of the Red Flower, a midwife and healer of some skill. She is currently in service in a Covenant Hall of the Red Flower in the Steel Mountains.
Erolantus Endicastre
Yrcantis's Thirdborn Son • 17 years
A gambler and carouser, Erolantus is everything his older brother Bondatus is not – and his brother's scowling disapproval is likely largely why he is the scoundrel he is. Yrcantis and Calepsa despair of finding a good use for the young man.
Xaphelle-endicastre.jpg
Xaphelle Endicastre
Yrcantis's Fourthborn Daughter • 14 years
Formerly a handmaiden to Lady Gemma of House Durwald, Xaphelle dearly adores her aunt, and is very upset at having been snatched from her service by her bitter, grieving aunt Terenda.

Deceased

Polvis-endicastre.jpg
Polvis Endicastre
Heir's Consort • Died 519 CR
Born to rustic nobility, Polvis was, above all, disappointed to have never sired children (although rumors of a bastard abound). He died from wounds suffered during a bandit attack while on the Durwald Winter Hunt of 519 CR.
