History

Born: Braneth 1st, 314 BR
Awakening: 8th of Felarion, 315 BR
Born in the Pavin Weald, it was known early that Cneasai was different than the rest of his birth family. One morning shortly after he hatched, his family was visited by a Rhy-hawk named Swiftwing, who spoke to Cneasai and told him that he was one of the Rhydan and that once he was able to fly on his own Swiftwing would come to take him to the Aerie. True to his word, the morning after Cneasai was able to fly on his own without falling, Swiftwing returned and they began the (long!) journey to the Aerie. It took several days for them to reach it, but along the way Cneasai was introduced to other members of the Aerie. Some flew out to greet Cneasai as he journeyed, while others reached out and contacted him mind through their connection to Swiftwing. It was an eye-opening experience to Cneasai, having other people touching his mind and speaking to him. When they finally arrived at the Aerie a great commotion occurred, and there was a sense of excitement and wonder that spread through the other members of the flock. A gryphon had descended from the Ice-Binder Mountain to greet the latest arrival to the Aerie. She was Silvercloud, and had sensed that Cneasai would need her guidance upon his awakening and that he would eventually answer a higher calling than most other Rhydan. So began Cneasai's life in the Aerie.

Over the course of the next six months the other members of the Aerie taught Cneasai the principles of connecting to another individuals mind, be it man or beast, and how to protect his mind from unwelcome intrusion. They also explained what would happen when he fully awakened into his powers, and how his perceptions of the world would change. They taught him of the Gods of Twilight and how they created the world, and of the other folk in the world. On occasion Silvercloud would reach out to Cneasai and show him things the others could not. She taught him of the Gods of Light and the was against the Shadow. She also taught him the ways nature could heal, the ways in which different plants provided different medicines for the body or mind.
