[edit] Who's Who in Ruhen

Meepo
The tribe's Keeper of Dragons
Meepo lost his charge Calcryx, the tribe's dragon. He has lost the respect of his tribe as well as his "best" friend. With even the hint of help from the adventurers has perked the little guy up!
Orroline Rubybraid
Master Blacksmith of Dewwood
Female Dwarf, master blacksmith, and one of the Master level crafters of the Marbleoath Clan. She is no nonsense, teaches with tough love, but has a soft spot for anyone who puts hard work in. She is first and foremost a teacher. While she doesn't behind the anvil as much as she would like, seeing her apprentices learn the craft is brings her almost as much joy. Almost.
Abbot Sullis Barris
Abbot of the Order of Kelemvor
Joined the Order of Kelemvor after his wife and daughters died from exposure in the Long Winter. Becoming a Brother, Sullis found that he excelled at the Rites of Passage and quickly rose as a prominent Exorcist within the Order. During the Feast of the Moon 1456, Kelemvor reached out and gave Sullis a vision of a child balanced between a dark male and a woman who’s light was fading. When T’var was brought to the Order it became clear to Sullis that the child would one day be important to the Order. He kept close watch on the child and began to teach T’var the Rites of Passage. In 1473 Sullis was raised to the position of Abbot of the Order of Kelemvor at Dewwood.

[edit] World Settings

[edit] Locations

[edit] World of Ruhen

The world of Ruhen is big. Really big. In fact the world is about 50 times bigger than the characters would realize.

The west part of Ruhen is at war. In the Northwest are the Orcs. They are aggressive by nature and wish to keep expanding their territory. For years they have just had little skirmishes with the southern races, but lately it has escalated to all out war, especially as the humans and the elves have started fighting to protect their borders.

The east part of Ruhen is mostly quiet villages that keep to themselves.

[edit] Dewwood

The city's population is in the 10s of thousands, especially if you include all the tent cities, smaller attached communities, and surrounding farms. You can get lost easily in this expansive city which is made even worse by the large elven community in the North part of the city, which built a city over the human city in a series of building built into the trees.

[edit] Blasingdell

The town's population of around 2,000 is quite diverse; although humans are the largest group.

  • The town's mayor is Sir Miles Berrick (male human noble).
  • Sergeant Grendar Kuln (male half-ore veteran) is in charge of the town watch; Constable Dara Whitewood (female human veteran) is the senior officer. The town watch consists of two full-time guards in addition to its officers. A militia force of around l 00 commoners can be mustered in emergencies.
  • Kheldegan Tolm (male dwarf commoner) owns Tolm's Superior Outfitting and Dry Goods.
  • Sarel Bankdown (female half-elf commoner) is the proprietor of the Griffon's Nest inn and tavern .
  • Sister Alonsa (female human priest) heads up the town's small temple which primarily worships Dumathoin. Sister Alonsa is assisted in her duties by two acolytes.
  • Near by is a rocky hill know as Stone Tooth. Many orcs have been seen around this area.

[edit] Oakhurst

This community houses about 900 residents (including outlying farms). Most of the inhabitants are human, with a sizable minority of halflings and a scattering of other races. Some locations of note in the town:

  • Village Hall: The center of government in Oakhurst includes the office of Mayor Vurnor Leng, a male human noble.
  • General Store: The village's main source for supplies and merchandise is the general store, owned and operated by Kerowyn Hucrele, a female human noble.
  • Shrine: Advice, information, and healing are among the services dispensed at the village's shrine. It is maintained by Dem "Corkie" Nackle, a female gnome priest of Lathander.
  • Jail: Next to the village hall is a stout building where miscreants serve their sentences. Oakhurst's constable is Felosial, a female half-elf veteran. She commands a force of sixteen guards and four scouts who keep the village safe.
  • Blacksmith: Repairing and forging arms and armor is the job of the village smithy, Rurik Lutgehr, a male dwarf commoner.
  • Ol' Boar Inn: Garon, a male human commoner, is the owner and barkeep of the Ol' Boar Inn. He serves food and drink, and the place has a few rooms that visitors can rent.

[edit] The Sunless Citadel

NPCs

The citadel is about 7 miles outside of Oakhurst that can be reach via an overgrown old road that winds through rocky downs, near stands of old-growth oak, and past abandoned farms. No one knows for sure what the Citadel was created for but this once proud fortress is rumored to have fallen into the earth. It has been abandoned by its original followers and rumored to house nothing but evil now.

[edit] Date

This campaign is taking place in early Mirtul in the year of the Ageless One (1479).

[edit] Calendar

There are 365 days in the year, split up into twelve months of thirty days each with five holidays that fall between some months. The names of the months are given in both the formal names and the common ones. The seasons run like they do for the northern hemisphere; Hammer is like January and Flamerule is like July. Each week consists of ten days, called a tenday.

Month Name Common name
1 Hammer Deepwinter
2 Alturiak The Claw of Winter
3 Ches The Claw of the Sunsets
4 Tarsakh The Claw of the Storms
5 Mirtul The Melting
6 Kythorn The Time of Flowers
7 Flamerule Summertide
8 Eleasis Highsun
9 Eleint The Fading
10 Marpenoth Leaffall
11 Uktar The Rotting
12 Nightal The Drawing Down

Every four years, another holiday called Shieldmeet is added as a leap day immediately following the Midsummer holiday.
