The DaVinci House Campus
Savants.jpg

Located on Angel Island in San Francisco Bay, the DaVinci House is secluded away from the majority of the island, which includes a state park, ferry docks, biking trails and the like. Thick woodland and a gate-protected private road provide some measure of privacy for the Academy campus.

Grounds

The grounds of the house extend out along Point Ione, a small northern peninsula off of Angel Island, an elevated hill that overlooks the small commercial Ayala Harbor where the school maintains a slip and dock shed. The grounds themselves are heavily wooded, and fairly narrow, sloping downward sharply the closer to the water you get. Most mornings, the water all around the point is covered in fog, with the school grounds sitting above it like an island in the clouds. The house itself dominates the landscape. There is no wall around the land, but there is an electronic gate that cuts off main road access from the rest of the island.

  • Pool: The pool features a single large, semi-circular shallower "play pool," and two deeper semi-circular leisure pools as well. These deeper portions, which include diving boards, are separated from the shallow ends by a pair of elevated concrete walkways with arches that allow viewing from one side to the other easily and a gate between them. These walkways lead out to a central "pool house," which is also accessible by a set of stairs leading up from the water's edge at any of the pools. This pool house has a leisure area, an outdoor kitchen portion with grill and food prep. The northern portion of the pool, roped off from the rest of the pool, is a deep-water, Olympic length pool. Finally, flanking the two leisure pool areas are a set of ten-man jacuzzi tubs.
  • Courts: The athletics courts behind the pool are set up to allow a wide variety of activities. Two of the courts, at the far ends, are set up as a tennis court and a basketball court, separated by a wall with closet-sized storage space and a keypad lock. The other storage spaces contain a variety of athletic equipment and the like, from field hockey gear to sports balls of all sorts.
  • West Lawn: The western lawn, hemmed in by a short hedge, is kept immaculate, and includes a variety of playground equipment for the use of younger kids. A wrought iron gate set into the hedge provides access to the rest of the grounds from this lawn, but it remains keypad locked and off limits to the kids who have free rein to play here.
  • East Garden: The hedged-in garden space to the eastern portion of the house is mostly an English-style garden, with a food garden set up in the section just below the breakfast room veranda (and thus easily accessible from the kitchens). The rest of the garden features elaborately cultivated nooks and crannies, as well as a pair of fountains and a variety of other statuary, benches and the like. The wrought-iron gate here leads to the rest of the grounds, but is keypad locked.

Vehicles

The Academy maintains a handful of vehicles for the use of its student body. Of course, only those with the proper licenses are permitted to borrow academy vehicles.

  • Cars: There are three cars in the garage: two four-door sedans and an SUV.
  • Motorcycles: In addition to the cars, the House also sports four motorcycles, simple street bikes.
  • Bicycles: Finally, there are also a half-dozen bicycles as well - three professional-quality ten speeds, and three more standard street bicycles.
  • Jet Skis: Down at the docks, the house also maintains a small dock shed. Inside this shed are four jet skis.
  • The Inspiration: Tied to the docks, beside the shed, is the //Inspiration//, a speed boat capable of seating a dozen people in casual comfort, with space for food preparation (including a deck-grill), space for laying out in the sun and a low-slung back deck just above the water, with a ladder that leads down into the water, making it easy for playful students to jump into the water and climb back aboard the boat easily.

PranaNet

The institutional pranatech computer system of the DaVinci House is named Mona (as in, "Mona Lisa"), a pleasant, female-voiced eidolon whose main goal (like all the eidolons of the Academy campuses) is to provide resources for education, including acting as an informational hub.
