Eightstone Apprentice (Background)

You have learned your magics from the traditions of Eightstone Tower. You spent as much time working in a lapidary workshop as you did in a library or spell testing-grounds, and you and your fellow apprentices aren't afraid of a day's hard work.

Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, History
Tool Proficiencies: Jeweler's Tools
Languages: Goltiri; if you already have Goltiri, you may take Tianne or Terran instead.

Feature: Eightstone Magics

You gain the Eightstone Initiate feat (below).

In addition, if you have the Spellcasting or Pact Magic feature, the spells on the Eightstone Spells table are added to the spell list of your spellcasting class. Wizard characters may add one additional spell to their spellbooks automatically when leveling, choosing a spell from this list. (If you are a multiclass character with multiple spell lists, these spells are added to all of them.)

    • 1st: absorb elements, identify
    • 2nd: decastave, see invisibility
    • 3rd: clairvoyance, counterspell
    • 4th: arcane eye, Leomund's secure chest
    • 5th: legend lore, Rary's telepathic bond

Eightstone Initiate (Feat)

You have studied with the gem-mages of Eightstone, learning the magics taught originally by Master Hjolman Eightstone. You learn the cantrips light and mending, and one first level spell from the following list: absorb elements, catapult, chromatic orb, elemental burst (EGM), or identify.

You can cast the chosen 1st level spell without a spell slot, and you must finish a long rest before you can cast it in this way again. You can also cast the spell using any spell slots you have.

Your spellcasting ability for this feat's spells is Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma (choose when you select this feat).
