It is with mixed tidings that I send this letter, though I pray that it finds you in good spirits and health.

Less than two weeks ago, we received word here in Sunspear by raven that a terrible tragedy did occur at Summerhall, the favored retreat of the rightful King Aegon V Targaryen and his family and companions. By circumstances unknown, Summerhall did burn to the ground, with a great many people within it - including our fair King Aegon V and his heir, Duncan the Small. In short, our King is dead.

But such circumstances bear fruit of their own sometimes, and even the fruit of such a bitter tree may be sweet. Shortly after hearing the news of her grandfather's death, the Lady Rhaella Targaryen - pregnant by her husband-brother, Aerys II - gave birth to a sweet baby boy, his features well-blessed with the features of old Valyria. He has been named Rhaegar.

In addition, the nextborn son of King Aegon V, the prince Jaeherys II Targaryen, is to be coronated with all due honor and regard, at the Red Keep, in two weeks hence. 

As such, I do hereby call upon you to attend me as we princes and princesses of Dorne make this pilgrimage to King's Landing, to render obeisance and fealty to our new King as he takes his rightful place upon the Iron Throne. 

With the crowning of a new King, it is needful that the Prince of your House needs must attend. Leave your House in the hands of a capable Steward and Castellan, and come with us. You may bring a single ship of your own, or you may take the journey down to Yronwood and take passage aboard one of their ships, as you choose.

I have made arrangements for those accommodations as I am able, though I fear you shall have to make arrangements for those servants you bring with you, so it is advised that you ought to travel lightly.

Please do so with all due haste - we have many leagues to travel, and precious few days in which to travel them.
