Lomelindi PCs

Races

In theory, a character of any race could be taken on as a retainer or lover of House Lomelindi, who love exoticism and uniqueness above all. These are the races that are most common, however:

  • Eladrin: Player's Handbook X
  • Elf: Player's Handbook X
  • Half-Elf: Player's Handbook X
  • Gnome: Player's Handbook 2 X
  • Shifter: Player's Handbook 2 X
  • Wilden: Player's Handbook 3 X
  • Hamadryad: Heroes of the Feywild X
  • Satyr: Heroes of the Feywild X

See the Races of Liminal for other races.

Classes

The Lomelindi tend to favor Arcane and Martial sources. It is easy enough to find Dusksinger Sidhe from among any of them. Rarely do the heroes of House Lomelindi use the Divine and Primal sources, although it has been known to happen rarely enough that it is noteworthy and memorable. There are no known Psionic heroes in Lomelindi history. See the Classes of Liminal for these classes.

Themes

The retainers of House Lomelindi can come from just about any background, with the exotic skills and abilities that brings with it. Lomelindi scions, however, tend to be raised in only a few circumstances (although players who'd like to expend beyond these can certainly come up with something to justify it, with the DM's help).

  • Sidhe Lord: Many are noble, but few are truly lordly. These Lomelindi are those to whom the responsibility of the House either currently falls, or will clearly one day fall. They embody all that is bright and proper about the Sidhe nobility.
  • Explorer: In love with the strange things to be found in both Feywild and mortal world, many Lomelindi are explorers and seekers-of-the-new.
  • Animal Master or Fey Beast Tamer: Many of the Lomelindi show a marked talent with training and understanding animals.
  • Order Adept: Lomelindi mages of all stripes are welcomed members of the various magical societies in both Arilan Atrin and Liminal.
  • Wizard's Apprentice: Some Lomelindi mages stay at home to learn their Art. Specifically, they learn it from the so-called Dusken Witch of Lomelindi, Ainagwath.
  • Seer: Many of the Lomelindi throw themselves into excess not merely for the pleasure of it, but also for the prophetic visions that come of that ecstasy.
  • Chevalier: The knights of the Sidhe are well-reckoned in the Feywild and mortal world alike. Lomelindi knights may be in service only to the House, or to one of the many orders in Arilan Atrin, including the Spire Knights, the Guardians of the Greensward or even the rare divinely-inspired knight of the Telluma Beleg.
  • Guardian: Bodyguards and defenders are common among the Sidhe. Though some can be found among the Guardians of the Greensward and Telluma Beleg, most warriors who take this theme are in service to a House, defending its scions.
  • Guardians of the Greensward: Though there are many Guardians of the Greensward, only a rare few embody the true fey powers at the heart of its mission: to defend the Feywild from the dangers of the mortal world.
  • Tuathan: The slim shapeshifters born to mortal races too close to the Feywild are beloved companions and retainers to the Lomelindi. To them, they are an example of what all people can one day achieve by being brought into the embrace of the Feywild.
  • Unseelie Agent: Even the hedonistic Lomelindi have those among them who resent the power of the Courts, and the mastery of the archfey. These have joined with the forces of the Unseelie to one day bring about the end of the Court of Stars, and the death of the archfey.
  • Primordial Adepts or Vile Scholar: The forbidden has always drawn the wicked temperaments of the Lomelindi, but some courses and study are only for the foolish or power-hungry. Whether the study of things Primordial or the very forces of evil, these themes embody those forbidden knowledges.
  • Merchant Guildsman: Though the Sidhe would never deign to grub after money with the dwarven-founded Guilds, that does not stop some of the Houses from putting a couple Guildsfolk on retainer.
  • Elementalist: Studies of the elemental powers of the world - which seep even into the verdancy of the Feywild - are well-known among the Sidhe scholars.
  • Gladiator: For the most part, Gladiators tend to be House retainers, submitted to fights for money and used for protection otherwise. Some rebellious Sidhe scions have been known to create elaborate personas and fight in the arenas, however.
