Initiate (••): Having proven worthy, you have been initiated into the Cult of the Gibbous Moon, a rite that culminates in a brand in the shape of the gibbous moon sigil being placed with a silver stylus at the base of your skull.
System: You gain a +2 to all Social checks with other Gibbous Moon members, and a +1 to checks with other Cultus members in general. You may learn Gifts •• to ••• from the Crescent Moon's Gifts. During nights of the Gibbous Moon, your Feral Wolf may not instigate the Feral Test. Sight of the Full Moon ceases to be an Instinct Trigger. You gain one free Specialty in either Crafts or Expression. You gain the Monstrous Hunter's Aspect. You gain a second Virtue (Glory) and a second Vice (Vain), as well as a Cultus Breaking Point. Finally, female initiates who menstruate find their cycle aligns with the Gibbous Moon (either waxing or waning, the player's choice).

Elder (•••): You are a respected and acknowledged peer of your cultus. You have taken on an acolyte and raised them up through initiation into your cultus at least once, and the other elders and hierophants of your cultus consider you one of them. You have received a bracelet hung with eight silver beads, the symbol of the Cults.
System: You gain a +3 to all Social checks with other Gibbous Moon members, and a +2 to checks with other Cultus members in general. You may learn Gifts •••• to ••••• from the Crescent Moon's Gifts. You are no longer discomfited by the mere touch of silver; ignore any pain penalties from silver. You gain a second Anchor: the Gibbous Moon. Fertile female werewolves may now simply choose when they will be fertile, and may choose to forego a menstrual cycle altogether if they prefer.

Hierophant (••••): Once you have successfully taught and initiated eight acolytes within your cultus, one for each of the moons in the Great Cycle, your initiates were encouraged by a hierophant to gather and perform a ritual acknowledging you as a hierophant. You are acknowledged a great repository of the Cahalith philosophies and traditions.
System: You gain a +4 to all Social checks with other Gibbous Moon members, and a +2 to checks with other Cultus members in general. You no longer lose your Regeneration while in contact with silver. You gain an additional Cultus Breaking Point.

Saint (•••••): In truth, it is unknown how the saints of the moon-cults achieve their status as such. It is thought that either a quorum of other saints of all the moon-cults gather and agree to bring a hierophant into their number, or perhaps that Luna herself - or one of her foremost servitors - approaches the one so blessed to give him the boon. The Saints are leaders of the Cultus as a whole, the lunar bodhisattvas of werewolf spirituality.
System: You no longer take aggravated damage from silver, though it does still inflict lethal damage. You may also learn the Gifts of the other Moons, up to a maximum of ••• in power. There are also said to be other Rites and Gifts shared among the Saints of Luna.

The Cahalith

Those who howl joyful songs and tell one another stories of ages past under the bright light of the passionate moon.

Cahalith Virtue

Glory. Regain all of your Willpower whenever you not only accomplish something tremendous, but are lauded and acknowledged for having done so. You need not have actually been the only one to accomplish it, but you must be among those to reap the praise for it.

Cahalith Vice

Vain. You are concerned with your good looks, good reputation, and the deference of others. In any scene in which someone acts in a self-effacing or very complimentary fashion (even if it's obviously only flattery with a purpose), regain a Willpower point.

Skills of the Gibbous Moon

  • Crafts: Cahalith are artists, and many of them learn to work with their hands. The cultus teaches these skills as a metaphor for many things: the molding of a perfect story, the appreciation of beauty that one creates oneself, and the careful transformation of the dross of one's personal identity into something beautiful, valued, and desired.
  • Expression: Cahalith are also speakers and singers, poets and performers. Indeed, a well-crafted argument is far better regarded, even over one that makes more rational sense - the quicksilver hearts of the cahalith wish to be moved to passion, not to logic.

Hunter's Aspect

Like all initiates of the Cults of the Moon, the Cahalith can invoke the Hunter's Aspect by declaring another creature or spirit his prey and invoking his rightful spiritual legacy as a predator. He must be within sight of the prey, or must be partaking in the Spirit Hunt Rite when he does so.

Cahalith Predators: The Monstrous Aspect

  • Roll: Presence + Crafts or Expression + Status (Cult of the Gibbous Moon), opposed by the prey's Resolve + Composure + Primal Urge.
  • Aspect: If you successfully inflict the Hunter's Aspect on your prey, they gain the Resigned Condition.

Gibbous Cultus Breaking Points

Cahalith Breaking Points are Breaking Points Toward Man, and all involve defeat or embarrassment, or failing in attempts to seize the spotlight for themselves.
