Origin
The Black Rose of the Sands
- Aashah's mother, Kraeliel, was a member of a Drow settlement in the crags of the Black Canyon in eastern Gorgotha. In light of her pregnancy, she renounced the worhship of Lolth and abandoned her treacherous kin. Kraeliel escaped into the Endless Sands, only to be captured by a Korhashii slaving party. She was immediately taken to Judgement in Korhash for auction. Drow are very rare on the surface, and she would command a high price.
- She was made part of an exhibition of rare flesh for the Sultan, who desired an exotic new wife. She was immediately bought and married to the Sultan, thus becoming his 7th Wife.
- The Efreeti Sultan waited until after Aasha was born to take her mother to the marriage bed. Aasha saw her mother only rarely, and was raised mostly by the Sultan's many concubines. Fortunately, her mother did have enough time one-on-one time with Aasha to teach her some of the secrets, history, and pitfalls of her drow heritage.
- When it became clear that Aasha did not have the temperament for a courtesan, though excelled in hand to hand combat and the arts of subterfuge, she was sold to the priests of Ethraeus.
- It did not take long for the priests of Ethraeus to see that Aasha would be skilled in dealing Death to others from the shadows. She was trained as a Heshasî, a sacred order of assassin's who swore fealty to the Church of Ethraeus.
