'''Summoning Goetic Demons:''' Armed with the name and seal of a goetic demon, the goetic magician can call upon the great Goetic Courts of the Temenos, who are the lords of the tiny goetic demons that dwell in the Oneiroi of men (see Squires of the Goetic Courts, below). A goetic magician is well-advised to assert his domination over his own Squire before calling upon these demons, however - summoning them either in the Astral or Fallen World without having one's own Squire bound up through "Goetic Struggle" spell prevents the magician from using the seals of the demons properly. In all cases, these are the spells necessary to simply bring the spirit to the presence of the magician.
 +
* ''Physical Conjuration (Mind ••••, Spirit ••••, Space ••):'' Just as a goetic magician with this knowledge can summon his personal goetic demon into physical form, so too can he perform a summoning, echoing out of his Oneiros into the Temenos, and calling the goetic demon into a body of ephemera. This must, however, be performed at a Demesne or a Hallow •••••.
 +
* ''Oneiros Summoning (Mind ••••):'' In this version, the goetic magician simply creates in his own Oneiros the temple space he requires. Through this method, the demon is summoned directly into the magician's personal dream-space. This is, of course, dangerous, as the demon may exert powerful influence on the magician, using his Influences directly on the environment of the mage's dream-self if the goeticist fails to convince the demon to accede to his wishes. An alternative to this involves summoning the demon within a structure in the Temenos, but there is a whole other kind of danger from doing so - an infuriated demon may summon the demons he commands, and lay seige to the locale. Thus, the magician should make sure that the site in which he summons the goetic demon is strong enough to resist the assault, at least until the magician can bind or coerce the demon into calling them off.

'''The Magical Circle:''' Goetic magicians are advised to perform their summonings from within the safety of a potent magical circle which will hopefully resist the assaults of the demon until it is bound.
 +
* ''Physical Circles (Space •••, Mind or Spirit ••):'' This is a standard "Ward," with an added "Ban" against goetic demons (using Mind) or spirits in general (using Spirit).
 +
* ''Astral Circles (Mind •••):'' While in the Astral, the magician can effectively create a "Ward" spell that exists purely in relation to things of the astral. Thus, the magician may wrap himself in protective magic quite simply on the astral.

'''The Magical Triangle:''' Also called the "Place of Acquiescence," the magical triangle is a symbolic place of obedience. All goetic demons have Bans of obedience and truthfulness once they enter the properly created magical triangle (requiring the use of their seals), so this is essential to gaining their cooperation. As mentioned above, a magus that summons them without reining in his own Goetic demon is considered to have not created a proper triangle, ensuring that no goetic demon will obey, though they may pretend to. This can be done in one of several ways:
 +
* ''Social Interaction:'' The preferred method for gaining the assistance of a goetic demon is through a process of cajoling, tricking or threatening the spirit into obedience. In general, this is an Extended Social check, opposed by the spirit's Resistance. If the conjurer gains a total number of successes equal to its Rank, the spirit is convinced; if the spirit gains a total number of successes equal to its Rank, however, it ceases to listen to such methods and is likely greatly angered. At this point, the magician has only one option: magical compulsion.
 +
* ''Physical Summonings (Spirit •••):''' Through the use of the spell "Control Spirit," the goetic demon granted the body of ephemera may be forced into the Triangle.
 +
* ''Astral Summonings (Mind •••):'' Essentially the same as the spell "Control Spirit," but within the idiom of the astral, this can force the goetic demon into the circle as well.

Summoning Goetic Demons: Armed with the name and seal of a goetic demon, the goetic magician can call upon the great Goetic Courts of the Temenos, who are the lords of the tiny goetic demons that dwell in the Oneiroi of men (see Squires of the Goetic Courts, below).

  • Physical Conjuration (Mind ••••, Spirit ••••, Space ••): Just as a goetic magician with this knowledge can summon his personal goetic demon into physical form, so too can he perform a summoning, echoing out of his Oneiros into the Temenos, and calling the goetic demon into a body of ephemera. This must, however, be performed at a Demesne or a Hallow •••••.
  • Oneiros Summoning (Mind ••••): In this version, the goetic magician simply creates in his own Oneiros the temple space he requires.

The Magical Circle: Goetic magicians are advised to perform their summonings from within the safety of a potent magical circle which will hopefully resist the assaults of the demon until it is bound.

  • Physical Circles (Space •••, Mind or Spirit ••): This is a standard "Ward," with an added "Ban" against goetic demons (using Mind) or spirits in general (using Spirit).
  • Astral Circles (Mind •••): While in the Astral, the magician can effectively create a "Ward" spell that exists purely in relation to things of the astral. Thus, the magician may wrap himself in protective magic quite simply on the astral.

The Magical Triangle: Also called the "Place of Acquiescence," the magical triangle is a symbolic place of obedience.

  • Social Interaction: The preferred method for gaining the assistance of a goetic demon is through a process of cajoling, tricking or threatening the spirit into obedience.
  • Physical Summonings (Spirit •••):' Through the use of the spell "Control Spirit," the goetic demon granted the body of ephemera may be forced into the Triangle.
  • Astral Summonings (Mind •••): Essentially the same as the spell "Control Spirit," but within the idiom of the astral, this can force the goetic demon into the circle as well.

Interaction: Once a goetic demon is within the triangle, it is tremendously helpful and useful, willing to put its minions, Influences and powers at the magician's disposal.
