* As they stand on the docks catching up, Carenzo notices the approach of a small group of Braavosi bravos. They are led by Tyrenno Amastis, a noble Braavosi, who holds a grudge against Ayrant for some affair dealing with some person called the [[Midnight Diamond]].

* Lord Josian Wisent manages to acquire a pardon for his brother, Ayrant, from spurious accusations from his childhood.
* A fight breaks out, which is dealt with quite handily by Ayrant and Garwyn, with some assistance from Ser Ryfe and Maester Tolbric.

Ayrant finds his throwing knives don't have quite the range to reach the bandits, so he takes up an oar as well. Carenzo cowers in the bottom of the boat with the Maester.

* They spot a tall tower flying the colors of [[House Waterman]] ahead, just around a bend. As they speed toward the tower, the bandits break off their pursuit.

* The boat arrives at a docks, and once they are identified, they are quickly hustled into the Knifewatch, House Waterman's tower. Lady Merise Waterman is appalled to learn of the banditry on her lands, and that another House has been subject to attack. She immediately sends her son Ser Kronn, with a troop of riders, after the bandits.

* In the meantime, she and an old servant woman help to clean and bind Maester Tolbric's injuries, after extending Guest Right to the Wisent party with bread, salt and wine.

* In a few hours, Ser Kronn and his men return, with a few of the bandits in tow. A few got away, and others died in the altercation. Lady Merise has her son lock them into the stockade outside.

* The next morning, as they are preparing the barge for departure, Lady Merise indicates that she's decided to send the bandits downriver to White Harbor, to hand them over to Lord Manderly for incarceration in the Wolf's Den, the prison there.
