Silversley House has long been the property of the Citadel of the Celestial Eye, the astrologer masters of the city-state of Astrapola in the River Kingdoms. It serves as a sort of refuge for important Astrapolans in the city of Liminal. Influential members of Astrapola can often arrange to be housed there for a nominal fee, and the nobles and astrologers themselves may stay there as long as they have business in Liminal for free.
First Floor
Tower
- Entry: A large entry foyer, its floor made up of tiny stone tiles laid out in a pattern that recalls the Citadel of the Celestial Eye. The ceiling is painted with a night sky, with gently glowing stones that pick out the constellations of the Starry Wisdoms.
- Gallery: The long gallery is hung with tapestries detailing the night sky in various stellar configurations. Up and down its length are statues of important figures from the history of Astrapola.
- Studies: Important figures who are in residence at Silversley House may be given one of the important studies in the entry area, from which to conduct whatever business it is that brings them to Liminal. Those individuals are given keys to the chambers and the desks found herein. Spiral staircases lead downstairs to the residents' lounge, in the cellars.
- Antechambers: Unexpected guests are met at the doorway and then invited into one of the antechambers to either side of the entrance to await the attention of those they have come to see. A small bar in each room features decent wines, as well as decanters of the famous stardust brandy, a specialty of Astrapola.
Main House
- Servant Dormitories: A pair of dorms - one for men and one for women - act as the primary housing for the servants here. The majority of its serving staff are locals in Liminal, with residences elsewhere in the city. As a result, these dorms tend to be for the use of Astrapolan servants who have made the trip to Liminal for a period of service.
- Butler's Chambers: The butler who keeps Silversley House running, Suwal Chayt is a man from a long line of manservants and groomsmen. His goals are simple: to keep Silversley House in constant preparation to serve the city-state of Astrapola, and to ensure that his charges do so with a minimum of interruption to their important guests' lives.
- Ballroom: Infrequently used, the ballroom of Silversley House is modest, but perfect for throwing small fetes and ballroom engagements.
- Conservatory: A spacious lounge area, its walls decorated with fine art and cases of musical instruments, the conservatory often serves as a meeting area for visitors and the household's guests. A set of stairs leads to the vaults in the cellars from here.
- Garden Room: A sunny room with an expansive view of the gardens outside. There are a handful of comfortable seats here, for conversation and meditation.
- Great Hall: Because the standard assumption is that guests prefer to eat in the sitting rooms of their suites, the Great Hall doesn't often see much use. It is, of course, a resource available for any of the house's guests who wish to fund and throw a banquet or elaborate dinner of some kind.
- Kitchens: Extensive kitchens are perfectly capable of throwing large feasts, although they rarely see use to their full potential. There is a set of stairs that leads down to the cold pantry, in the cellars.
Second Floor
Tower
- Library: A perfectly massive library filled with all manner of texts relating to astrology, the Starry Wisdoms and the history of Astrapola. It also features two railed sections that look down into the studies below.
Main House
- Great Suites (West and East): The greater suites consist of a sitting room, a master chamber and a pair of smaller bedrooms, for retainers, family or guests.
- Eastern Greater Suite: The eastern suite is currently occupied by Duoma, an astrologer (of the Tower of Crown of Joy) who has been in Liminal to extend her studies. She frequently has clients over who seek horoscopes and advice from her. She is a tall, comely woman (though not quite beautiful), with long black hair. She is constantly accompanied by a small tawny cat.
