Day One -- research on space travel.
By installing a rare magical helm chair in an ordinary ship we will be able to fly through the sky. Others have visited our ports in the past but were informed enough to list other ports of origin in our world. The "helm" chair also creates a bubble of air that will last an indeterminate length of time, but is definately limited.
Ships travel quickly through the space between celestial spheres called the void or the sea of Philosogen. Spheres contain the sun and surrounding planets. It can take months to travel within a sphere. Most spheres have their own set of deities which can cause problems for clerics, although Selune reigns over space and spelljamming (flying ships with a caster's magic) so she is worshiped in most spheres.
Our sphere is called Realm Space. It was previously ruled by the Shou Empire and the Elves of Evermean who command a fleet of renowned. There are also Nieogi, Illithid, various beholder trives, and dwarves. The dwarves reside in the tears of Selune.
Day Two
We have loaded our ship with 9 sailors, 7 marines, and 12 canaries (for air control). We have 3 tons or 4800 man-days worth of supplies. This should last us 228 days and be pleanty of time to travel with.
The ship is extremely fast and windy when near land and the air is still once you reach the stars. A coin bounces when flipped overboard and floats away overhead. A arrow penetrated what I presume is the edge of the air field, and slowed but sailed onward.
We set course for Selune's tears, and were surrounded by rocks in two hours time. The air field is somewhat protective and smaller rocks bounce off it, although larger ones require finesse.
Very large rocks will draw crew members towards them from the ship.
A Shool of huge brightly colored jellyfish floated past. Each fish was hand sized to forearm sized. They pulse red and amber when frightened and ran from our ship.
Many of the rocks we are passing have plants upon them, like small islands in the sea.
5 15 foot black fish with white spots were able to move into our air field or wake. They were seeking to eat us but Niedra was able to chase them off.
We came upon a damaged ship and sent 6 men, including the Andelira and Ike to investigate. Minah joined and they found it inhabited by ghosts. We decided exploring was an unnecessary risk after one of the marines instantly aged 40 years and traveled onward.
We reached The Rock of Bral at hour 20. It is a rock with fins and a full sized city upon it.
Day Three
I awoke to find us being shown into port on The Rock of Bral. We were pleased to find that our guides spoke common. We arrived and paid tax for docking and air and got directions to General Daerbad, whose name was mentioned in the logs of the wreckage we found.
The Rock of Bral is ruled by a prince and populated by a variety of creatures -- from mine flares to Shou -- notably excluding Neogi. We found a city guide to lead us because the city can be rough in places, as is to be expected from such a melting pot. There are strage hippo-like creatures called Gif who seem to have notable military stature.
There are temples to Tir, Bane, and Gond; as well as several forgeign Gods.
After meeting with the Captain Vidoq of the Bral Fleet we discovered that they would not be able to offer any assistance and could not suggest any nation that would help. Apparently, the Neogi only prey on areas that the major space powers consider unimportant.
Our guide told us of the Pragmatic Order of Thoughts (POTS) who pay bounty for Neogi ships; the Seekers who control the largerst library in the city, The Library of Spheres; and The Fireball Alliance, a group of mages who guard the city.
We took rooms at the White Gallion where we met with Tareo Musantis of the POTs. He suggested we find the secret slave markets on The Rock or better find the slave markets on The Garden where our people have most likely been taken. We also need a better ship. We are considering revisiting the ghost ship in hopes of finding a helm to sell.
Day 4
We were able to return to the ghost ship in 6 hours. After dispatching some of the ghosts we were able to determine that this had once been a wealthy ship before it met with an asteroid. The ship had been attacked by beholders who disintegrated holes directly into the cargo hold. Apparently amongst the crew was a priest of Myrkul, whose wraith explains the undead infestation. Sadly the helm was missing so our plan failed. We did get some gold and silks.
