Cult of the New Moon

Irraka
Known Membership
Saints: None known.
Hierophants: x
Elders: Robard (Crater Lake Pack)
Initiates: xxx
Status: Cult of the New Moon
Initiate (••): Having proven worthy, you have been initiated into the Cult of the New Moon, a rite that culminates in a brand in the shape of the new moon sigil being placed with a silver stylus at the base of your skull.
System: You gain a +2 to all Social checks with other New Moon members, and a +1 to checks with other Cultus members in general. You may learn Gifts • to •• from the New Moon's Gifts. During nights of the New Moon, your Feral Wolf may not instigate the Feral Test. Sight of the Full Moon ceases to be an Instinct Trigger. You gain one free Specialty in either Stealth or Survival. You gain the Blissful Hunter's Aspect. You gain a second Virtue (Cunning) and a second Vice (Deceitful), as well as a Cultus Breaking Point. Finally, female initiates who menstruate find their cycle aligns with the New Moon (either waxing or waning, the player's choice).

Elder (•••): You are a respected and acknowledged peer of your cultus. You have taken on an acolyte and raised them up through initiation into your cultus at least once, and the other elders and hierophants of your cultus consider you one of them. You have received a bracelet hung with eight silver beads, the symbol of the Cults.
System: You gain a +3 to all Social checks with other New Moon members, and a +2 to checks with other Cultus members in general. You may learn Gifts ••• to •••• from the New Moon's Gifts. You are no longer discomfited by the mere touch of silver; ignore any pain penalties from silver. You gain a second Anchor: the New Moon. Fertile female werewolves may now simply choose when they will be fertile, and may choose to forego a menstrual cycle altogether if they prefer.

Hierophant (••••): Once you have successfully taught and initiated eight acolytes within your cultus, one for each of the moons in the Great Cycle, your initiates were encouraged by a hierophant to gather and perform a ritual acknowledging you as a hierophant. You are acknowledged a great repository of the Irraka philosophies and traditions.
System: You gain a +4 to all Social checks with other New Moon members, and a +2 to checks with other Cultus members in general. You can learn Gifts ••••• from the New Moon's Gifts, and up to Gifts • from the Gifts of the other Moons. You no longer lose your Regeneration while in contact with silver. You gain an additional Cultus Breaking Point.

Saint (•••••): In truth, it is unknown how the saints of the moon-cults achieve their status as such. It is thought that either a quorum of other saints of all the moon-cults gather and agree to bring a hierophant into their number, or perhaps that Luna herself - or one of her foremost servitors - approaches the one so blessed to give him the boon. The Saints are leaders of the Cultus as a whole, the lunar bodhisattvas of werewolf spirituality.
System: You gain a +5 to all Social checks checks with all Cultus members in general. You no longer take aggravated damage from silver, though it does still inflict lethal damage. You may also learn the Gifts of the other Moons, up to a maximum of ••• in power. There are also said to be other Rites and Gifts shared among the Saints of Luna.

The Irraka

Those who slip silently through the black of night when Luna's eye is closed.

Irraka Virtue

Cunning. Regain all of your Willpower when a plan or trick accomplishes a significant win for you. You need not be the one to have necessarily formulated the idea, but you must have been important in its execution.

Irraka Vice

Deceitful. You take great joy in the little lies and the small deceptions. Regain a point of Willpower whenever you tell a lie that has a chance of being discovered as such in the moment, or might cause you significant trouble in the long run.

Skills of the New Moon

  • Stealth: Irraka specialize in remaining unseen and sneaking about. They are scouts and burglars, lurkers and stalkers, and it is frequently a measure of some respect among the Cult of the New Moon if you are able to sneak up on other members without being noticed.
  • Survival: Irraka take a great deal of satisfaction in their ability to get along well in the wilderness. Though their efforts often certainly include tracking their pack's prey, they also simply appreciate the raw cunning it takes to carve out a niche where one can survive alone in the wild.

Hunter's Aspect

Like all initiates of the Cults of the Moon, the Irraka can invoke the Hunter's Aspect by declaring another creature or spirit his prey and invoking his rightful spiritual legacy as a predator. He must be within sight of the prey, or must be partaking in the Spirit Hunt Rite when he does so.

Irraka Predators: The Blissful Aspect

  • Roll: Intelligence + Investigation or Persuasion + Status (Cult of the New Moon Moon), opposed by the prey's Resolve + Composure + Primal Urge.
  • Aspect: If you successfully inflict the Hunter's Aspect on your prey, they gain the Blissful Condition.

New Moon Cultus Breaking Points

Irraka Breaking Points are Breaking Points Toward Man, and all involve being outsmarted, or failing at their own attempts to outsmart others.
