Blackhorn Vale
A small, richly wooded portion of woods, Blackhorn Vale is home to a small hamlet of crofters and woodsmen, who all mainly take part in trapping and furrier work. Blackhorn Tower (formerly Beacon Tower, held by House Balinger) is held by the Blackhorns at the center of the hamlet. (Land: Plains; Lightly Wooded, Hamlet; 18 pts)
- Blackhorn Tower: Tower Formerly known as Beacon Tower, Blackhorn Tower sits at the center of the Vale, and is always well-defended. (Defense: 10 pts)
- The Blackhorn Archers: Veteran Archers The Blackhorns command two units (200 total) of skilled archers, armed with longbows and ring mail. (Power: 16 pts)
- The Blackhorn Lancers: Trained Cavalry Additionally, Ser Kromley's lifelong project is realized in his lancers, two units (40 total) of mail-clad horsemen of no small measure of skill. (Power: 16 pts)
- The Vale Godswood: Godswood The Vale's godswood is tucked away in the local woodlands. By tradition, no one hunts any of the animals in the small grove. Its heartwood tree is a grim-faced, scowling visage, and a tall trunk with nearly no branches at ground height. (Wealth: 5 pts)
- Furs: Animal Husbandry Holding The majority of the smallfolk in Blackhorn Vale are either trapper and furriers, or those who cater to them, including tanners and the like. The furs that come from the Blackhorn Vale are rich mink, ermine, fox and rabbit fur primarily, and the locals will occasionally organize bear hunts as well. (Wealth: 10 pts)
Members of the House
- Ser Kromley Blackhorn: Head of House Ser Kromley is the head of the Blackhorn household, although his son Thomas runs its day-to-day affairs. He is a bitter old man, angry at the onset of old age's weakness, but far too stubborn to just give up and die. He has a perfectionist streak, and is fiercely loyal to House Wisent. He took to his wife a minor noblewoman of the Tallhart line whose hand he won in tourney, one Ballia by name, though she passed nearly a decade ago of a winter fever. (Age 68)
- Ser Thomas Blackhorn: Heir of House The castellan of Blackhorn Tower, and steward to House Blackhorn, Ser Thomas is an extremely disciplined, no-nonsense man. Ser Thomas worries about living up to his father's military prowess and skill. (Age 45)
- Emma Blackhorn: Ser Thomas' wife is the cousin of Lord Josian Wisent, whose father served House Wisent under Lord Waldren, but who died when she was still young. Lord Josian promised the young girl that she might marry for love one day, and he was good to his promise when she and the son of his bannerman fell in love. (Age 41)
- Yasmin Cerwyn: The oldest of Ser Thomas' children, Yasmin married Ser Mallory Cerwyn, a Cerwyn knight, five years ago or so. (Age 24)
- Ser Danyk Blackhorn: Ser Thomas' oldest son, Ser Danyk remains at Blackhorn Tower as its master-at-arms. (Age 22)
- Ser Garwyn Blackhorn: A young man knighted by Lord Wisent at the tender age of fifteen, Garwyn serves House Wisent as master-of-horse and one of their knights. (Age 17)
- Marten Blackhorn: The youngest of the Blackhorns is a rambunctious boy who has served as a page at Wisenwood for the last year and a half. (Age 9)
Retainers of the House
House Blackhorn does not maintain household retainers, being a small retainer house themselves.

The Founding of Blackhorn
Taenis Blackhorn was a knight in the service of Korvan Wisent. The two were more than liege and knight, however - they were fast friends, and always fought side-by-side. House legend has that it was Taenis who helped his friend muster the men and the courage to go to war with his own brother, Lord Maegris Wisent, called "the Mad" by his own smallfolk and family. When the battle was over, and Maegris had cast himself from the battlements of his weirwood-constructed Palewood Tower, Korvan's first act as Lord Wisent was to raise Taenis to landed status as a vassal, and grant him part of the Wisent lands deeper in the Wolfswood.
