The Fulcrum Protocols
Across the Galaxy
Anonymous and far-reaching, Fulcrum is an agitator and organizer. Many cells are in some form of contact with Fulcrum - who is not an individual so much as it is a top-tier cell of insurgents. Fulcrum acts as a way of tying resistance cells together, coordinating their occasional efforts while allowing all of them to remaining unknown to one another. The Fulcrum Protocols are less of an individual group, and more of a way for members of various groups to work together without the danger that comes from knowing who your allies truly are, in the event of capture and interrogation.
Local Cells
The Eriadu Insurgency
Eriadu, Outer Rim
A carefully concealed resistance cell, the Eriadu Insurgency focuses on information gathering and slicing. Though their efforts were once restricted to purely local endeavors, this still gave them a great deal of foresight, as their homeworld is the capital of Moff Wilhulf Tarkin. With recent aid by a cell of operatives searching for Fulcrum, the Eriadu Insurgency not only gained valuable assets from a prison break-in, but they also managed to secure HoloNet access, giving their slicing efforts a significantly broader applicability. Forced to go further underground, the Eriadu Insurgency now focuses on security while they mine their new access for intelligence of value to other resistance cells.
The Free Ryloth Movement
Ryloth, Outer Rim
The Imperial-occupied world of Ryloth is home to one of the longest-running insurgency operations in the Galaxy. Some say that Ryloth's efforts at self-governance were originally spawned in the days of the Hutt dominance of the world, and this bled over into the efforts during the Clone Wars to throw off the influence of outsiders entirely. A few short years of success were all undone with the rise of the Galactic Empire, who wasted no time seizing control of Ryloth and its extremely profitable spice mines. Now Ryloth freedom fighters - some of them two or even three generations into the fight - seek ways to liberate their homeworld and achieve their singular goal: self-governance in an era of peace and prosperity.
The Phoenix Cell
Phoenix Home, Varying Locations
A small nomadic rebel fleet, Phoenix Cell is commanded by Commander Jun Sato from his Pelta-class frigate, Phoenix Home. Though his cell includes some very basic infantry and ground troops, they are largely made up of Phoenix Home, a pair of CR90 corvettes, and the Phoenix Squadron: a bevy of RZ-1 A-wing Interceptors. Though Phoenix Cell has undertaken missions of its own in the past, a good degree of their work in recent years has been to provide backup to other groups, with Fulcrum acting as coordinator.
The Sullust Resistance
Sullust, Outer Rim
An insurgency cell based on the planet Sullust and its moons, the Resistance mostly fights SoroSuub Corporation, as the corporation has been levied with "keeping the peace" and seeing to Sullust's prosperity by the Empire, who hold the company's leash. The Sullust Resistance is made up of several factions and cells, not all of whom get along, and who operate with differing goals in mind sometimes. The AntiCorporatists simply wish to free Sullust from SoroSuub's influence entirely, declaring that with the fall of SoroSuub, the Empire will lose its hold, while the Free Mercantilists want to eliminate Imperial influence from what they view as a native Sullustan edifice.
The Alliance to Restore the Republic
Most insurgents eventually hear rumors of some grand Alliance of rebels intended to overthrow the Empire and restore the Galactic Republic. Most dismiss these as wishful thinking and spacer tales, however - insurgency groups barely stay alive due to keeping small and unseen. The Empire would surely notice some effort to establish a Republic-in-Exile provisional government, and deal with it harshly.
Rebel Ships
Cruisers
MC80A Home One-class Heavy Star Cruiser Mon Calamari Shipyards Precious to Alliance High Command because of their powerful capabilities, Home One type capital ships are guarded carefully by the Rebels. The few they have are part of the Mon Calamari fleet, with incredible firepower and a complement of 120 starfighters and over 1200 troops. • Weapons: (36) quad heavy turbolaser batteries, (36) twin battleship ion cannon batteries, (80) quad laser cannon batteries, (6) hull-mounted heavy tractor beam emitters
MC80 Liberty-class Star Cruiser Mon Calamari Shipyards Graceful, sleek, and dangerous as the deep-sea behemoths they're modeled for, Liberty cruisers are among the few heavy battle cruisers possessed by the Rebel Alliance, rivaling Imperial-class Star Destroyers in size, mass, and power. • Weapons: (48) twin heavy turbolaser batteries, (20) twin battleship ion cannon batteries, (6) hull-mounted heavy tractor beam emitters.
Maelstrom-class Battlecruiser Kuat Drive Yards A relic of the Clone Wars, the Maelstrom shows the distinctive proto-Star Destroyer shape that has come to dominate Imperial design. A now-mothballed design that is no longer constructed by Kuat Drive Yards, a handful of Maelstroms have found their way into Alliance hands: notably the Fortitude and the Simoom. • Weapons: (20) heavy turbolaser batteries, (10) battleship ion cannon batteries, (20) medium ion cannons, (30) proton torpedo launchers, (10) retractable quad-barrel assault concussion missile launcher batteries, (20) medium tractor beam emitters, (10) heavy tractor beam emitters
Neutron Star-class Bulk Cruiser Rendili StarDrive Once a popular warship with planetary defenses throughout the galaxy, Neutron Stars have found their way into the Alliance Navy, who are scrambling for whatever capital ships can be secured. Though no match for Star Destroyers, the bulk cruiser serves as the core of Rebel fleets who have to take what they can get. • Weapons: (24) heavy bulk cruiser turbolasers, (25) heavy laser cannons, (2) heavy tractor beam emitters.
Dreadnought-class Heavy Cruiser Rendili StarDrive A heavy cruiser now being phased out of its Imperial duties, it is not uncommon to find Dreadnoughts simply left to fall apart in a shipyard or orbit, as the Empire does not consider them worth the expense or effort of refitting. The Alliance, on the other hand, very much does, and has stolen more than one of these beauties out from under the noses of Imperial forces before, finding them a warm welcome in the burgeoning Alliance Fleet. • Weapons: (10) medium dreadnought turbolaser batteries, (20) light dreadnought quad turbolasers, (10) heavy laser cannons.
MC40A Light Cruiser Mon Calamari Shipyards Fleet support vessels with incredibly powerful shields, each MC40A is usually equipped with a squadron (12) of starfighters to provide close support. • Weapons: (14) turret-mounted medium turbolasers, (2) concussion missile launchers, (18) medium ion cannons, (6) heavy tractor beam emitters.
Consular-class Light Assault Cruiser Corellian Engineering Corporation In service since before the Clone Wars, the Alliance uses Consulars as light assault carriers and command ships. • Weapons: (1) Turret-mounted twin heavy ion cannon, (4) twin light turbolasers |
Carriers
Thanks to the Alliance's preference for hyperdrive capable starfighters, carriers are largely unnecessary in Rebel strategies.
Corvettes & Frigates
Employed for workhorse tasks, or for skirmish and light warfare backup, the corvettes and frigates employed by the Rebel Alliance are usually either serving as gunboats or as transports.
Munificent-class Star Frigate Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc. Once a backbone of the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS) Navy, the Alliance has laid claim to these vessels where they could find them, refitting them with habitation for organic troops. • Weapons: (2) heavy turbolasers, (2) long-barelled ion cannons, (26) twin light turbolasers, (20) turret-mounted light turbolasers, (8) medium flak cannons, (40) turret-mounted retractable light laser cannons
EF76 Nebulon B Frigate Kuat Drive Yards One of the first new vessels developed for the use of the Imperial Navy, they are usually assigned to tasks beneath Star Destroyers, such as convoy escort, scouting, and picket duties. Much to Imperial chagrin, more than a few of these vessels have made it into Rebel hands. • Weapons: (12) retractable turret-mounted medium turbolasers, (12) retractable turret-mounted light laser cannons, (3) heavy tractor beam emitters.
MC30c Frigate Mon Calamari Shipyards A powerful mid-level Rebel fleet ship, the MC30c is capable of launching waves of devastating proton torpedos and scattering cluster bombs in its vicinity to prevent enemies from closing with it. One of the fastest frigates in the Rebel fleet, it pays for this speed with very minimal armor plating. • Weapons: (2) heavy proton torpedo launchers, (16) turret-mounted medium turbolasers, (16) twin medium laser cannons, (6) cluster bomb launchers
CR90 Corvette Corellian Engineering Corporation A workhorse vessel of both military and civilian organizations across the galaxy, it is the CR90s ubiquity that makes it the perfect vessel for the Alliance's purposes. Many of these vessels serve the Alliance as transports, gunships, and blockade runners. Weapons: One dorsal and one ventral turret-mounted twin medium turbolaser battery, two port and two starboard turret-mounted light turbolasers.
DP20 Gunship Corellian Engineering Corporation A pirate-hunter and droid-fighter for the Galactic Republic, the DP20 has largely fallen out of favor and use by the Empire. The fact that it is a consummate anti-starfighter and anti-capital ship vessel means that others have happily snatched them up, including the Rebel Alliance. • Weapons: (8) turret-mounted light twin turbolaser batteries, (6) retractable turret-mounted quad laser cannons, (4) concussion missile launchers |

Freighters
Though Rebel agents often employ any number of various freighters – the less recognizable the better – there are a few which are so ubiquitously employed by the Rebels that the Empire has come to pay closer attention to them when they encounter them.
MC-18 Light Freighter Mon Calamari Shipyards A light freighter with the sleek look of most Mon Cala ships, it also shares another trait with those vessels: it is fully submergible, able to either pressurize its interior with atmosphere, or allow it to take on water for amphibious crews.
Simiyiar-class Light Freighter Mon Calamari Shipyards Another Mon Cala vessel well-known for its organic shape and its impressive complement of guns, like the MC-18, the Simiyiar is submersible and a favorite among the Rebel Alliance. |
Patrol Boats & Armed Transports
CEC YV-929 Armed Transport Corellian Engineering Corporation An armed transport designed to operate in hostile space without an armed escort, the Alliance uses YV-929s as blockade runners and fast transports. They frequently upgrade both hyperdrive and sublight engines in order to maximize this function.
Gozanti-class Armed Transport Gallofree Yards Incorporated and Corellian Engineering Corporation Frequently appearing in the midst of unarmed freighters as defensive support, the Alliance uses Gozanti-class ships as escort vessels and even as small capital ships in times of desperate need. Some have even been converted to carry one or two starfighters in converted cargo bays. |
