The Journal of Warner Pelt
August 6
Ok, I'm a little freaked out right now. I don't have any idea what's going on. I remember my Mom saying that she used to keep a journal when she was young and it used to help her keep her thoughts straight when she was troubled. At the risk of Thomas finding it and making fun of me for it, I think I'm going to try it. Nothing else is working anyway.
Ok. Now lets look at what's happened lately. I am back from Europe. My brother hates me, and I've gotten in to a new university. I've found my photography can actually fund my education, which is awesome, especially since I was able to get an apartment instead of living in the dorms. That's how I met Thomas. Thomas and I kind of met at orientation, but when he found out I had my own place, he just showed up. That was pretty cool, actually. I mean, I didn't have to go looking for friends. And he brought a friend, who brought a friend. Friends were multiplying by mitosis for all I could tell.
Then I had some classes, which were actually interesting. I had cross-country training, which is dangerous. Let's just say that I have to make sure I'm not watching the coach, or I have to contend with more than the usual amount of air resistance. And there is the GSA. Dr. Litchfield seems nice and the others are okay. Henry, though is just plain pretty. In a manly sort of way of course. He's in the ATO fraternity which, small world is watched over by Mrs. Jalo. I didn't realize this at first because he always calls her Mama J. I haven't seen her for a few years, since I dropped out of the scouts.
Everything seemed to be going fine. I'd even found enough time to familiarize myself with the local woods. Then Henry asked me to find him a good clearing to hold a couple of hundred people for a bonfire party. I was able to do that, and prepared the site for fire safety, and built the fire. The party was going pretty well, and then wolves happened. People were drunk, dancing, losing their shirts like some kind of series on MTV. The wolves came right out of the woods, into the fire light. I mean, that's just weird. Henry's friend Renee came running out of woods covered in blood, and hey, didn't she go into the woods with Jerome? Well, the crowd went wild, not in a good way. The next few minutes were a jumble. I'm not really sure what happened. I was hard to breath, the crowd seemed determined to run us over, but between Henry and me, we were able to get Renee out and safe. Of course, we got separated from Henry, and I got bitten by a wolf.
Well we did get Renee out, and I'm not really sure what happened after that. I just know I woke up in the morning with no shirt, a torn and bloody jean leg, and no bite. I remember being bitten, my jeans are covered in blood, but I didn't have a mark on me. Also, I woke up outdoors, not at home, although I felt pretty good. I don't know what what's going on but I think I need to.
