The Rookery is the crow-essence that is within the wereraven, giving her the shapeshifter nature from which she benefits.

Death Crow

Death crows are obsessed with death and dying. They are eternally fascinated by mortality in all its manifestations.

  • Sustenance: You regain a point of Essence when someone dies near you, or when you spend a scene in conversation or simply quiet reflection with someone who is at death's door. You may also gain this point in the company of those who are grieving the dead within three days of that person's death, as the death still lingers on them.
  • Hoards: Archaeological grave goods, human remains, graverobbed jewelry, rubbings of rare tombstones.
  • Visceral Manifestation: When using Willpower on an Empathy or Medicine Skill check, that roll also gains the 9-Agains feature.
  • Ephemeral Manifestation: The smoke dissipates, spreading out within a mile area to find those who are dying or otherwise close to death (whether because of illness or because Fate has decreed their death soon). This appears in the wereraven's vision as crows flitting about near those affected, and of the shadows of those involved bearing a crow of ill omen on their left shoulder. This also grants a bonus to detect ambushes and dangerous traps equal to her Primal Urge.

Raucous Jackdaw

Flighty and capricious, the mischief of corvids is often quite cruel. Their jests are not merely funny or poignant - they are often harmful.

  • Sustenance: You regain a point of Essence when your lies lead to injury or danger for others, or when you make someone afraid for their lives.
  • Hoards: Stolen jewelry, trophies from really good pranks or cons, news clippings reporting criminal activities.
  • Visceral Manifestation: When using Willpower on an Athletics or Larceny Skill check, that roll also gains the 9-Agains feature.
  • Ephemeral Manifestation: The smoke dissipates into the shadows, deepening them and muffling sound. This grants then wereraven a bonus to all Stealth checks equal to her Primal Urge.

Battle Rook

Corvids are quick to fight, engaging even with creatures much larger than themselves. They remember their enemies always, and fight to defend them.

  • Sustenance: You regain a point of Essence when you enter violent physical confrontation.
  • Hoard: Trophies of battle of all kinds, from weapons taken from fallen enemies to rewards given by grateful people they've protected.
  • Visceral Manifestation: When using Willpower on a Brawl or Weaponry Skill check, that roll also gains the 9-Agains feature.
  • Ephemeral Manifestation: The smoke confuses and distracts the wereraven's enemies. She seems to flit here and there, her form obscured by smoke and shadow. She gains a bonus to her Defense equal to her Primal Urge.

Wise Raven

Masters of thought and memory, all-seeing and canny beyond expectations, corvids have been associated with wisdom and cunning in nearly every culture where they are found.

  • Sustenance: You regain a point of Essence when you discover a new and important piece of information, or solve a mystery of particular relevance.
  • Hoard: Expansive libraries, tokens from world travel
  • Visceral Manifestation: When using Willpower on any Perception Skill check, that roll also gains the 9-Agains feature.
  • Ephemeral Manifestation: The smoke dissipates into the environment, drawing the wereraven's attention to omens of the future. In additions to the secrets that come of this, this grants the wereraven a bonus to Initiative equal to her Primal Urge.
