Religion in Memnon
The people of Memnon focus much of their worship towards Selune.
Shrines
Small shrines, dedicated to Valkur and Umberlee, can be found throughout the districts closes to the docks. Each of these shrines has statues depicting Valkur and Umberlee in a small basin of salt water. Sailors who are about to make sail will leave a pair of coins in one of these shrines, one coin to buy Valkur's protection, and the other to stay Umberlee's wrath.
Also throughout the city are reflecting pools with a statue of Selune to one side. They are designed so that when looked at under the light of the full moon, the reflection will show Selune in the moon.
The Protectors House
The protectors House is a Temple to four deities. Selune Goddess of the Moon. Valkur god of Sailors and Ships. Shaundakul, god of traveling and travelers, exploration, caravans, the wind as well as mining and miners. Ibrandul, god of the underground, darkness and stealth.
The Monastery of the Moon
Four miles outside of Memnon is a monastery dedicated to the Worship Selune, and it is the home of one of the primary chapters of the Oracles of the Moon. The Monastery guards a number of relics sacred to Selune, the most important of which is Selune's Eye, a large gem that reportedly fell from the sky.
The Procession of Stars
Every year devout residents of Memnon will travel during the day to a festival held at the Monastery of the Moon. Once night has Fallen and Selune shines in the Night Sky, they will march back to Memnon, each person bearing a single candle. At the head of the procession a single oracle of the Moon will walk, carrying Selune's Eye. When it arrives the procession will wind through the streets of Memnon. The Eye is then placed under the dome of the Protectors House, causing it to glow with the light of the moon. The processors will place the Candles they brought with them into small reed boats in the bay, which will slowly drift out to sea with the tide.
