Spirits are manifestations of many aspects of the waking world and its folk, and many spirits arise from aspects of nature itself—particular places, plants, animals, and cycles. Druids associate closely with these types of spirits, and through this understanding are able to influence the waking world itself.

Unlike clerics, druids are often more focused on the physical aspects of the world than on higher enlightenment in spiritual lore. While they may have spirit mentors early in their learning, they are also just as likely to have learned from another druid. More powerful druids often use smaller spirits of nature as followers and servants while keeping more distant relations with the greater spirits.
