Halam's Academy
From OakthorneWiki
Jump to navigationJump to searchHalam's Academy is a block of buildings in the Merchant's District owned by the Halam family. In addition to housing the extended Halam family, the Academy teaches reading, writing, mathematics, and history to children. Most of the students are the sons and daughters of merchants or minor nobility (Major nobles have private tutors), although Halam is always on the lookout for exceptionally gifted students no matter what their background is.
The Academy also trains scribes, and provides scribe services to the city. The Academy has a private library that can be accessed with supervision and a modest fee, and it is well known that the Academy buys and sells scrolls and books of all kinds.
