Your Awakened soul has been suffused with Prime magic gone wrong, and its fury burns through magic you come into contact with. Spells that target you – including those cast by you – receive a penalty to the spellcasting test equal to your Prime rating. Moreover, the first time you spend any mana in a scene, remove an additional point of mana. This is not counted as spent, but is simply burnt away. Finally, lose two dice from all spellcasting rolls for the Prime Arcanum; you may negate this penalty by spending 1 Mana. Possible Sources: Dramatic Failure on a Prime arcanum spellcasting roll Resolution: Gain an exceptional success on a Prime arcanum spellcasting roll; resolve this Condition instead of taking another Condition. Arcane Beats: Anytime this Condition causes you to ruin a beneficial spell cast by another, fail a spellcasting roll of your own, lose extra mana, or fail the spellcasting roll from the Prime arcanum, take an Arcane Beat (maximum of 1 Beat per scene).
