  • Relinquishing a spell allows a mage to cede his occult control over that piece of magic by spending a dot (not a point) of Willpower. This has the following effects:
    • The spell continues to operate, out to the extent of its Duration.
    • The spell no longer counts against the mage's Spell Control (Gnosis +3) limits, although if it is on the mage himself, it does still count towards Spell Tolerance (Stamina).
    • The mage loses any control over the spell's functioning. That is, he can no longer dismiss the spell at will, cast other spells that might modify it (such as a Ban on a Ward) or the like.
