Chapter Two: The Second Year

Ascending Earth, RY 768

• After a year of training, their skills are sharpened. Venerable Silk explains to them the concept of the Callings of the Sequestered Tabernacle.
• He also introduces to them the existence of the “other training camps” though he refrains from discussing them in too much depth at the moment.
• He has seen their proclivities, and feels that he knows the sort of training that would be best for each of them. Some of their training begins to happen apart from one another.
  • Dolorous Distich and Starfish are made Exemplars and additional time in which to not only practice their skills, but also to teach them to others. Dolorous spends time XXX. Starfish spends his time XXX.
  • Sun's Red Hand becomes an Itinerant and taught techniques for establishing new cells of the cult by those who have done so for years. As a "graduation," he is let loose on the small city of Kunlun Shan, to the north of the Dehennen Mountains, to create a new cell.
  • Kyrra is trained as an Inquisitor and taught how to look for signs of infiltration, heresy and infernalism, and taken to the small city of Wallport, one of the few places in the North with an existing cell, in order to practice those skills.

Descending Earth, RY 768

• After a good amount of training, Unrelenting Wolf takes the Solars to the nearby Poison Vale, a Wood Desmene controlled by Unwholesome Blossom, a local goddess of poison and flowers, and her priestesses, the Sisters of Vitiation.
• It is soon revealed that the Solars are here to be pitted against the Priestesses of the Poison Vale, a group of women predominantly composed of mortals with enlightened essence, save for one Wood Aspected Dragon-Blooded; All of them practitioners of the Ill Lily Martial Arts style.
• The bout begins simply enough. Starfish, taking what he learned from his practice bout, immediately lunges forward to grapple with the ladies.
  • Kyrra explodes in a flurry of attacks, striking many different priestesses, some of them erupting with dramatic golden light as the poison essence of her Black Widow Razors permeates their bloodstreams.
  • Distich clinches another priestess, setting up Red for the one-two punch.
  • Unbeknownst to the planning process, Red lets loose a couple of arrows from his short bow, dropping the priestess to the ground instantly and causing the Wood Aspected Dragon-Blooded to join in the fight sooner than expected, taking Red's manhood for a spiky, viney joyride of pain.
  • Eventually all of the priestesses are defeated, leaving the Solars victorious.
• There is a brief exchange between the leadership of the Cult of the Illuminated and Unwholesome Blossom before heading back to The Sequestered Tabernacle for more training. Despite the ferocity of their bout, the Solars and the priestesses of Unwholesome Blossom part as friends.

Resplendent Fire, RY 768

• (Ayesha Ura takes sorcerers away to old First Age school ruins in the Scavenger Lands)

• Silk sends the Illuminated out into the Vale to investigate methods of helping the people and executing their plans. After visiting the various locales in the valley they devise a plan and get to work. Dolorous Distich establishes a school and works with Starfish to device plans for a tower of the dead to be built in the over capacity graveyard. Sun's Red Hand works with the locals and pull them together to create a united government with a plan to evolve and grow the government over time. Starfish drafts plans for and leads a crew of volunteers to build a second lift for The Watch, an enchanted mill capable of processing a variety of substances and starts work on an aqueduct system for the vale. Kyrra ventures out into the wilds to investigate a problematic beast, tracks the creature and instead of slaying it as the rangers had suspected, befriends it instead and leads it back to the Vale as her new companion.

• The Illuminated take a break from the designs to improve the Vale in order to undergo a mission from Silk. They travel west to Zalvenesh where a gathering of buyers are congregating after the local salvagers had pulled a massive orichalcum artifact suspect to have been part of a Fist Age vehicle. The Illuminated are sent to investigate the Zalvenesh and it's people, to establish a cell while there and to potentially purchase the artifact.
• The Illuminated travel quickly through the use of Dolorous Distich's sorcery as he summons up a flying chariot to carry them to the outskirts of Zalvenesh. On the way there, they spot a figure fallen in the snow, but are unable to stop due to the nature of the sorcery transporting them. Sun's Red Hand marks her location with a flare arrow, Starfish does a quick glance diagnosis of her condition and Dolorous Distich calls down the power of the gods to heal her, hoping that it will help her last until he is able to return to render further aid. Once they land near Zalvenesh, most of the party continue to the village, while Dolorous Distich summons up another chariot and travels to where they had spotted the fallen figure.
