Feral Wolf
Yb miles wolf.jpg
Creeper
The Big Bad Wolf: The big bad is a predator, seeking to feast on the weak (sometimes literally, but sometimes simply sexually or with confidence games). He instills terror because it improves the taste of his prey, and has no interest in challenging the strong.

Affinity Instinct: Predator. The Big Bad Wolf loves the thrill of the hunt, and the glory of capturing his prey.
Feeding the Wolf: You regain a point of Essence and gain a point of Rage when you needlessly terrify someone, or play the role of predator on an innocent.
Triggers: Predator (+1)

Current Conditions
Unanchored: xxx
Unanchored
You have no anchor, nothing to cling to when the Feral Wolf threatens to overwhelm your humanity and self-control. You are adrift, pulled hither and yon by the emotional tether you have to your Feral Wolf. You must find an Anchor - something that will let you hold your ground against your Feral Wolf. You can only use Willpower or Resistant Stimuli to fight it.
Possible Sources: Having no Anchor, whether through lack or erosion of Harmony.
Resolution: Gain a dot of Harmony, which establishes a new Anchor.

Background

Born: November 24, 1993

I was born in Nebraska. Dad was an ambitious US Senator, Mom was a rising socialite, we had money. All of it. I had two older half-sisters, Phoebe and Juliet, by Mom and a prior husband, they were totally useless bitches. And I had another half-sister, Lora, by Dad and a prior wife, she was awesome. She was the only real family I ever had growing up. Dad only valued family as a strategic piece in his game plan for the White House - when there were no cameras, constituents or politicians to impress with his perfect family, he preferred us out of sight. Mom adored her daughters, but never failed to remind me that I had been a mistake, and I don't think she ever bothered to learn Lora's name. As soon as I was old enough, I was shipped off to a Catholic boarding school in New York. It wasn't so bad. I played a lot of sports and had a secret boyfriend named Boyd.

My life as a relatively normal human being ended when I was 15 years old. My sister had vanished shortly after she graduated high school. My parents both put on the concerned parent act very convincingly for police and reporters. She texted me - she was fine, she'd run away and was going to enroll in college in SanFrancisco. Awesome! We secretly kept in contact via text afterwards. I didn't know what sort of insanity she'd gotten caught up in until a few months later when I got dragged into it.

Apparently Lora had gotten involved with some sort of pagan cult, gods and monsters and stuff. Her cult had riled up and were antagonizing a group of Nazi-Thule witch sort of werewolves. Yeah - they'd learned about me, and decided to use me as leverage against Lora and her friends. It was...a confusing time: crazy pagan soldiers, Nazi werewolf sorcerers and me caught up in the middle of it all.

Somehow we survived it. Lora murdered the fuck out of their leader and she sorta snapped. Well - there is no sorta about it, she's downright broken. I brought her home. The doctors couldn't do anything with her. They said that she'd had a psychotic break and seemed to be trapped in the fantasy that the cultists had built up around her. I'd visit her in the hospital, she'd be wide eyed and staring straight through me. She was off fighting monsters and saving the world. She couldn't even see me there. Couldn't hear me.
I was shipped back off to school and she was deposited in a psychiatric hospital where Mom and Dad could pretend she didn't exist.

About a year later, I came out to my Dad as gay. I...didn't handle it very well. I came out at him, threatening to come out to the media, in an attempt to blackmail him into getting me a car. Phoebe and Juliet had cars. I'd just turned 16. He didn't handle it very well either.
Then I was homeless. My parents disowned me. My half-sisters hated me. All I had was a mad sister in an asylum and her dog, Ludwig who I took with me for fear of what Mom would do to him. Apparently the political fallout for my Dad was pretty intense. He's somehow maintained his job as senator, but after Lora and myself, his chance at presidency is long gone and he blames me. Fuck him.

A group, a "family" called the Abernathy's found me. They knew of me following my encounter with the pagans and werewolves. They were tasked, along with twelve other families with hunting down and killing such monsters and were interested in me joining them. I had nothing to lose, and I hated those creatures that had destroyed my sister and my life. I also had nowhere to go. I was staying with a friend and his dad, sleeping on an old couch in their basement.

So I became a hunter. They said I was too young to go out into the field, so I helped with errands, inventory and gear. It wasn't so bad. At least not until their base was attacked by a pack of werewolves and I was bitten. I hid it, hoping it wasn't one of the contagious bites, most aren't. But I'd learned about the signs of the change, and oh boy it was happening. I was turning into a werewolf in the midst of a hunter camp dedicated to eradicating monsters.
I left a hasty farewell, not my cup of tea note and I split.

Goody. I was homeless again. Oh, and an insane, rabid killing machine of teeth and claws. I playfully considered going back home. Not for comfort or anything, I just figured I could eat my family then crash on the couch afterwards. But this was real. I ran. I kept moving. That time period was pretty hazy. I know I killed people. Or Creeper did. Creeper is my wolf, I had no control over things - just a helpless observer at a horror freak show.

I'm not sure how I managed to make it across the country in one piece. I kept expecting the Abernathy's or one of the other hunter families to find me or a cop or redneck with a shotgun. But I made it to Washington and I was found. Ida and Roy found me and took me in and introduced me to their pack. Amarissa and the others accepted me into the pack. I had a family. Ida and Roy were great and they were awesome leaders after Amarissa and Desmond left the pack to start a new one down in Astoria. Evangeline was quirky and always seemed on the verge of bolting at any moment. Garrick and his GQ body (I called him GQ) and his mom Eleanor, who Eva and I saved from him shortly after his change. She made the best blueberry cobbler. And Lily, Ida and Roy's daughter.

It was perfect. I'd found myself. Balance. And while I still had to wrestle with Creeper for control, I knew more peace for the few years I was with them than I'd ever known in my life.

Then the Monks came.

They murdered everyone. I saw them kill my friends, my family. They shot us all with drugged darts and then they gunned the others down. I only managed to escape from the massacre because the darts they were shooting us with didn't seem to work.

I don't know what to do. I want to kill them all. They're evil. They're the monsters that need to be hunted. My family, my pack was dead and Eleanor was missing. I called Desmond. He said he'd wire me some money and for me to take a bus to Astoria. We'd figure things out once I got there.

I'm on the bus. On my way to Astoria. I keep losing everyone I care about. I don't know what to do.

The Brovik Family
(Legally Disowned)

Colin: Colin is the US Senator for the state of Nebraska and a very vocal member of the Democratic party. He has been involved in numerous scandals through the years, though he somehow continues to maintain popularity in his district.
Colin is an avid golf player and cigar smoker who had once been known for taking pride in showing off his picturesque family for the world to see, though following the death of his first wife, his daughters psychological problems and disowning his gay son, his family is no longer something he brings to the table for others to admire.

Grace: Grace was born into money, married into more money, widowed to an even larger sum of money, inherited yet more money and then decided that she had enough money and that it was time to marry into power as well as money.
Grace has two daughters from her previous banker husband, Phoebe & Juliet, who she dotes upon. Her son Miles she claims was a mistake, spawned from a night of too much wine after a charity event with his father, and she was all too eager to send him away to boarding school once he was old enough to drag away from his nanny. She does not acknowledge the existence of her step-daughter, Lora.

Phoebe: Miles' oldest step-sister is seven years older than him. Quiet, lazy and unmotivated, Phoebe is a college dropout, stay-at-home-daughter. She generally ignores everyone that isn't her mother and spends most of her time at home on the couch watching television. She is generally acknowledged by her peers and family as additional furniture.

Juliet: Five years older than Miles, Juliet is a self-obsessed, would-be-actress with zero talent living in Hollywood California in a tiny apartment paid for by her mother, who is under the belief that her daughter works as Sandra Bullock's personal assistant.

Family

Yb miles sis3.jpg
Lora Brovik
Troubled Half-Sister
Lora is Miles' half-sister and is three years older than he is. They had always gotten along well enough, often teaming up to thwart their older siblings schemes. Shortly after Lora graduated high school she became involved with a cult and ran away from home. Miles was unaware of what had happened to his sister until he was kidnapped by a pack of some sort of Nazi-Thule inspired werewolf fanatics that were rivals of his sisters cult.

Miles and Lora escaped both the cultists and the werewolves, though Lora had suffered a psychological breakdown and become lost in a delusional fantasy world in her mind. She was admitted to the Norfolk Regional Center psychiatric hospital, where she has lived since.
Miles and Lora had once been very close when they were younger and had endured a traumatic experience together. After he left Nebraska he would occasionally check in on her via a friendly nurse who knew him as the only family member who had ever visited or checked up on her since her arrival.

Yb miles ludwig.jpg
Ludwig von BarkBark
Nephew
Miles and his sister Lora had rescued Ludwig as a puppy during a flood. When no one claimed him, Lora adopted him as her own. After Lora was admitted to the psychiatric hospital, Miles started taking care of Ludwig.

Friends

Desmond-lancaster.jpg
Desmond" Lancaster
Old Packmate
Desmond and Miles had briefly been packmates in the Auberdeen, Washington pack. Not long after Miles had joined the pack, Amarissa and Desmond left the pack and moved south to Astoria. After the Monks had wiped out the Auberdeen pack, a frantic Miles reached out to Desmond and was invited to join him in Astoria until he figured out what to do next.
Eleanor-curtis.jpg
Eleanor Curtis
Old Packmate
Eleanor is is the mother of Miles' late packmate Garrick and was a valued member of the pack. She wasn't at the pack den when the Monk attack happened, so it's unknown what has happened to her.

A description of your characters day to day life.

  • Downtime Condition: Athletic. Description goes here.
  • Money: After some legal loop hole jumping, a reference from Dr. Tigerlily and a part-time campus security job from Desmond, I've managed to square away enough financial aid to cover tuition, housing and meal plans. Unfortunately what little I have left over afterwards is spent on dog food for Ludwig.
  • Clothing & Jewelry: I prefer cargo shorts/pants (pockets are your friend), and tee shirts. Simple, comfy & practical. I wear my campus security coat & beanie when it's cold.
  • Housing: I live in a dorm room with some guy named Ian. He is always watching reality television and eating hot pockets.
  • Transportation: I have two very sturdy feet and a buss pass.
  • Communication: I have my old cellphone, which works in wifi areas, but I can't afford a phone plan right now.
  • Food: I like food. I'm not picky.
  • Days: Gym, breakfast, classes, lunch, then off to work on some days.
  • Evenings: Work (some days), dinner, homework, lurk, hunt, play, whatever, then sleep.
