Members of the Family

  • Ithnil Manthar: Patriarch (Rank 10) • 38 years. Ithnil was content to be the captain of the Manthar mercenary company called the Steel Stingers. A talented fighter with a strange sense of humor, Ithnil inherited five years ago when his father was killed in a duel with a foreign merchant who used poison on his blade.
  • Churyl Manthar: Consort (Rank 8) • 36 years. The daughter of mining magnate with mines across the North - many of which were included in her dowry - Churyl and Ithnil are well-matched, if not particularly loving. Her mother was one of the Bedine of Anauroch, giving her a beautiful bronze cast to her features, and a bevy of practices and traditions that are odd to Waterdhavian sensibilities. She is also thoroughly unscrupulous in her efforts on behalf of House Manthar.
  • Carn Manthar: Heir (Rank 0) • 14 years. Young Carn Manthar has inherited the one thing both his parents excel at: his skill at arms. He has made it very clear that as soon as he is old enough, he intends to join a mercenary company, and to rise as a leader not based on his name but on his ability - and his parents have every reason to believe he will do just that.
  • Torval Manthar: Regent; Patriarch's Uncle (Rank x) • 52 years. Ithnil's uncle is a former campaigner himself, and stands as regent until Carn is of age. A thoroughly paternal figure, Torval has long since taken it on himself to teach the Manthar children, boy and girl alike, to fight with a blade by the time they enter adolescence, and he is almost single-handedly responsible for two generations of Manthar reputations for skill at arms. His sole point of melacholy is the abandonment of family name by his only son, Phanar.
  • Phanar Manthar: Torval's son (Rank 0, disowned) • 22 years. A novice at the Halls of Inspiration in Silverymoon, Phanar took vows as a priest of Oghma at the age of 18, after two years of begging his father to let him do so. Without his family's blessing, Phanar rejected his name and took his vows anyway, and his furious father officially disowned him before a magistrate. Ithnil has tried to mend the rift between his uncle and cousin, without effect.

Holdings

  • Waterdeep villa
