From Lord Gulian Swann

Lady Isalaine Graben, My dearest Sister, I give you greetings

It is with great joy in my heart that I send you this message, and I hope that it engenders the same in you. As you of all people know best, it has been said that our father found his greatest happiness not with his first wife, but with his second. As a young man, I couldn't understand that, but I suspect that I have come to comprehend it to some degree. At the very least, I pray I shall have the ability to find that joy for myself very soon.

It is my great pleasure to announce to you that I am betrothed to the lady Beony Meadows. She is a recent widow, of the third son of House Meadows in the Reach, and we met in Lord Renly's court at the harvest festival last year. She and I have carried on a correspondence - as two who have seen the deaths of their beloved spouses have the freedom to do, unlike in our youth - and she has agreed to wed me.

Since she and her wedding party will be coming down the Boneway from the Reach through the ruins of Summerhall, your domain will be the first they encounter, and I should ask of you a favor, as your older brother. Would you provide them rest and succor from their travels, and help entertain them while they rest from their travels for a day or two? A few folk of House Meadows will be accompanying her to her new life, as well as one or two other Houses of the Reach, including the family of your ward, House Willum. I know you already know Lady Willum, who shall be coming along, so I pray she will be able to make introductions as necessary.

They leave upon the morrow, and should arrive at Marrowmont in eight days hence. As you can imagine, I and my household shall be busy preparing for this wedding.

I hope we can count on you to be here for the wedding in addition. Our brother, Ser Clifford, will be coming bearing Lord Renly's gift and congratulations, and I've managed to get our sister Ravella on a ship back here in short order. It would be wonderful to have you here as well.

I hope to receive both your congratulations and your assent in this tremendous favor, sister dear.

I remain, Your Loving Brother, Lord Gulian Swann, Warden of the Marchwater Vale, Lord of House Swann

Writ by the hand of Maester Grance, with warmest greetings to you, Lady Isalaine.
