• 2 successes: The sigils arrayed around the outside surface are from a Levantine occultic tradition referred to as "goetic" in origin.

• 5 successes: According to some sources such as the Lesser Key of Solomon, this is similar to a vessel referred to as the Brass Vessel. It is used in some goetic rituals. All of the symbols of a Brass Vessel are present on this one, but there are also some additional ones. It is also clear that the wax seal used over the mouth is not typical in Brass Vessels.
• 8 successes: The Brass Vessel is said to be a means of containing goetic spirits who are ordered into the vessel. Once they are tired of being trapped within, they are often allowed to negotiate for their freedom. Indeed, it is thought that the folklore of genies trapped in lamps comes from the trapping of goetic demons in a Brass Vessel, as lamps were easily-purchased and readily-available brass vessels.
