Origin

Born in Silverymoon to a moon elf mother a cleric of Mielikki and a human (genasi) father, a rogueish type from Waterdeep, Niedria was raised well off by her mother who kept her fairly protected. at 16 she left home with her mother's blessing and went to Waterdeep. There she booked passage on the first ship that would take her. That ship was taken by the crew of the Scarlet Dancer and their captain, Ahnura the Red. Niedria leapt at the chance to become a pirate under the rule of this beautiful and fearsome woman. After a calm spell of nearly three weeks, a delirious Niedria heard a voice in her head. The voice was a djinn who offered to bring the wind back if only she would make a pact with it. Thus Niedria became a warlock and worked her way quickly through the ranks with her new found skills. Eventually she became Ahnura's lover and the first mate of the Scarlet Dancer. For three years Ahnura and Niedria sailed the sword coast, the Moonshae Isles, and Calimshan raiding merchant vessels. The merchants of Calimshan put a bounty on Ahnura's life and she was eventually caught. Despite "pleading her belly," Ahnura was put to death for her piracy. Over the next year and a half Niedria avenged her lover's death, killing everyone who had a hand in her capture and execution, including poisoning the magistrate, and setting fire to the Scarlet Dancer with her new captain aboard. Having completed her revenge, Niedria fled for Memnon and sought sanctuary with the help of an old crewmate in the temple of Selune.
