- X: Aiden Connor receives a Visition from Thomas Rhymer on behalf of Lugh, on the night that Fomorians try and strong-arm Marcel, the owner of the Cirque du Soleil, into signing over ownership of the Cirque. Aiden is given the Relics Speirgeata, a torc, and the spear Aidanconnadh. He single-handedly fights off the Fomorians, chasing the leader of them into a nearby river, where he escapes.
- X: Jonathan Davies receives a package from a friend in the industry - Dominic Glasman. The package turns out to contain several items of Egyptian make, which Dominic hopes to use to inspire Jonathan to accept his ideas for a new Egyptian-themed section of Daybos. The next day, he finds out that Dominic is dead, killed in Egypt. That night, something awakens Jonathan from sleep - he hears something moving around downstairs in his house, and he ends up in his study, where the small statuette comes to life, bearing him a Visitation on behalf of his divine father, Ptah. The shabti explains the uses of the items, including the canopic jar, which he must keep safe. He is attacked by strange lapis lazuli-and-gold masked animate corpses; upon defending himself with the khopesh, he discovers that the masks are merely conglomerations of scarab beetles, which are also within the corpses, animating them. During the battle, the shabti is destroyed. Shortly thereafter, however, police officers arrive only to be killed by the beetles.
- X: Chiyoko is playing in the Shinjunku, doing some busking, when he draws an incredible crowd. Suddenly, the renowned guitarist Otsu arrives and hands him a big tip and asks him to keep playing. A strange chill creeps down Chiyoko's spine, and clearly Otsu feels it as well, as he departs shortly thereafter. It begins to rain, and one of the audience, Chouzan (whose name means "ruined blossom") invites him back to his place, where they chat and eventually shag. Later that night, though, as the storm rages, Chouzan reveals Chiyoko's heritage to him, giving him his Relics. That evening, they are attacked by kazeoni, the storm demons that serve someone or something called Kaminokaze. Chiyoko fights them off, but is forced to flee as the storm brings down the hotel. They pursue.
- X: Lora Brovik is in trouble for "snooping around" and ends up in a confrontation with Grace, her stepmother. She is sent to her room, where she talks to her father. Later that evening, a strange squirrel gets her attention and she watches as a car with government plates pulls up and four men get out - three in military uniforms marked with a strange eagle-and-sword badge, and the other dressed in government black. The squirrel lures her out onto the roof, allowing her to overhear the conversation between her stepmother and the men. She hears them essentially blackmail Grace into agreeing to allow them to take Lora with them. The squirrel helps her escape through the woods, insisting she throw away her phone, and leads her up a tree. Suddenly, she is clinging to the side of a massive tree, which the squirrel explains is Yggdrasil, the World Ash. He introduces himself as Ratatosk, and tells her that her true father, Heimdall, asked him to bring her some gifts, giving her the Relics.
