The Great Wheel Freehold

The Great Wheel Freehold is New York’s primary freehold. Though it was once made up of several technically lesser freeholds throughout the Five Boroughs, the Great Wheel Freehold is now one of the largest single changeling freeholds in the world. Each of the boroughs is home to one of the four Courts, with Manhattan serving as “Equinox Isle,” where the Sovereigns of the Great Wheel Dominion rule jointly in seasonal pairs which change out at Summer and Winter Solstices.

Rulers

The Great Wheel Freehold is practically the model by which inter-Court cooperation works among the Seasonal Courts. Rather than rely on singular individuals throughout the year, the Great Wheel Freehold has evolved the Dominions, pairing of the Crowned members of each of the courts.

The Seneschent Dominion

The Seneschent Dominion rules the Waning of the Year. It is made up of the Crowned rulers of the Autumn and Winter Courts, taking over the Great Wheel Freehold and the Throne of Oak and Apple at the Autumn Equinox.

The Nascent Dominion

The Nascent Dominion rules the Waxing of the Year. It is made up of the Crowned rulers of the Spring and Summer Courts, taking over the Great Wheel Freehold and the Throne of Oak and Apple at the Vernal Equinox.

Area

Equinox Isle: Manhattan

Manhattan acts as the center of the Great Wheel Freehold as a whole. It is not accorded as a freehold on its own, and is not considered the headquarters for any Court. As such, it is home to both the very young and the very old Changelings here, for both the Courtless and most of the Entitlements in New York are based out of Manhattan.

The Summerveldt: Bronx

The Bronx is claimed by the Summer Court, under its Crowned queen Ladora Red. The Summer-affiliated Entitlements are based out of the Bronx, as well.

The Autumnalhills: Queens

Queens is the dominion of the local Autumn Court, under its Crowned king Prince Selwyn, the Prince of Fallen Leaves. It is also the home of the Autumn-affiliated Entitlements.

The Wintermarch: Brooklyn

Brooklyn is the home of the Winter Court, under its Crowned queen Selene, the Argent Queen. It is also the home for the Winter-focused Entitlements.

The Vernalwald: Staten Island

Staten Island is home to the Spring Court, under its Crowned king Sebastian, the Vernal Father. It is also home to the Spring-affiliated Entitlements.
